People often ask to see before and after pictures of the most disgusting tubs we’ve done. Its probably the shock element that interests them the most. Most tubs we do are old and worn, but not necessarily gross and disgusting. However, now and then, such a tub does come along — usually in low rise walk up rental apartment building in town. We did this one yesterday and we made it look very close to brand new at a tiny fraction of what it would cost to rip out the tub, and replace the tile (estimated at $5250). The tile was cleaned and refurbished. The tub was reglazed with our commercial coating. We think the result is amazing and the landlord will be able to attract a higher quality tenant at a higher price. In situations such as this, there is an extra cleaning fee for the tub, and the tile restoration is also a separate charge, but for getting the look and feel of a brand new fixture for about 12% the cost of replacement it is an amazing bargain. Because the tile is a normal color, and was in otherwise good shape apart from being filthy, it was not necessary to refinish the tile, although that is also an option.
