Our “standard residential” coating is a bit of a misnomer because it is the best performing, strongest, and fastest curing residential grade coating on the market for bathtub refinishing. This amazing product allows you to use your bathtub 3 hours after we leave. In fact, that is only because our caulk takes 3 hours to dry. The coating itself is shower-ready within 2 hours.
With all that being said, we are often asked if there is something even better, stronger, and more durable. The answer is yes. That is our commercial coating. This coating is used in water parks, aquariums (Sea World is one of them), and hotels. Marriott International recently made it the standard for refinishing in all its hotels – worldwide. The disadvantage of this coating compared to our residential coating is that it takes a minimum of 12 hours to cure. In the future, we may be able to accelerate this time down to 4-5 hours. The other disadvantage is that it has slightly more odor than our residential coating. We would say the odor is about 50% stronger.
The advantage of this coating is that we can give a six year residential warranty, and a 5 year commercial warranty on bathtubs and walls. This coating will never peel or delaminate from a bathtub. It is really that tough.
We recommend this coating in all vacant units whether they be owner occupied, commercial, or rentals. We also think home owners strongly consider this coating if they have an alternate place to shower and are aware there will be a bit more odor than with our residential coating. The picture on this page is a unit we did yesterday. It is currently vacant, but will so be a rental. In this case we did two full units in a single day. This was the tubs and the walls of two bathrooms. They came out looking amazing with consistent gloss. The owner said they looked “better than new”
